Hi, I'm Marc, and I'm from Johannesburg, South Africa. I'm a chartered accountant, the South African equivalent of the American CPA.
When I was building my practice and putting together a client base, I faced one major hurdle and that was getting through the front door, getting hold of the person that could actually make decisions and was looking to engage your services.
Once I managed to do that, however, my success rate was pretty good in the region of around about 80%. So how do you do this?
The general way of people doing this, and people would tell you, is through one of three ways, or all three ways, being cold calling, networking, and referrals.
There are, however, problems with each of these approaches.
Firstly, cold calling. Cold calling can be very frustrating, and often soul-destroying, when you keep on hearing "No, not interested, sorry, no, not interested."
Getting hold of the right person, which you eventually do more often. Actually, your call is treated as a marketing call, and they are really, really not interested in talking to you.
Networking can be very expensive, especially when you have to pay for the events, and obviously is very, very time consuming.
It takes up a lot of time and you're not even guaranteed of meeting somebody that would actually require your services. So this in mind, I found that the return on investment of time and money was not really that great.
Lastly, referrals are obviously the best way, but they are far and few between. And then still, you may be referred to a prospective client that you may not, for a multitude of reasons, want to actually do business with them.
So, bearing all that in mind, where does it leave us? It leaves us having to go online.
That is pretty much the way to go these days, and is probably the only way to go these days. You will hear people talking that there are primarily three ways to do this and that would be Facebook, Google and LinkedIn.
However, this is all great but you still need to know how to do it and more importantly you need to know how to do it properly.
So I went onto Google and googled how to get leads online and the process and the best most effective way to do this and I came across Skyline Social.
I registered, watched the masterclasses, and it was music to my ears. It brought everything together.
Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, together with automated messaging and appointment setting, all the way to video presentations.
This sounded fantastic.
So the next question is, what kind of support would there be with this product? Because I was very new to online marketing and didn't really know much about it.
So what did I do?
I emailed Ashley from Skyline Social with a couple of questions. Much to my surprise, Ashley actually got back to me within a couple of hours.
Now, in my experience, when emailing an online company, you very often don't even expect a response.
And even if you do get a response, it may very well be after a week and Yeah, it's very difficult. Um, however, with Ashley, it was different.
He got back to me very quickly, very soon. We set up an appointment, and it was a pleasure talking to him.
He knows his product. He knows exactly what he wants, what it's about. He knows exactly how to do it.
And just as importantly, I found, is if you've got a problem that he can't manage to sort out, he'll tell you.
He'll let you know, "Listen Marc, that this product may not work for you. It may not be right for you."
And that was fantastic.
There were no false expectations, no promises that would not be able to be fulfilled.
So I was pretty much very impressed with his way of talking.
Also, what was important is that even if you do have a problem that may not be addressed by the masterclasses and by what you speak to him about, he was always, always willing to think about it.
And never once has he failed to get back to me as promised. So, bearing all of this in mind, I would seriously suggest that you look at the Skyline Social register, watch the master's classes, make an appointment with Ashley.
It could change your entire approach to marketing, and build your client base.
